Security Council

The initial membership of the Council is a committee of six multi-signature wallet members capable of executing urgent and delayed non-emergency actions.

The Security Council needs to be operational when the DAO is launched, as they need to be mobilized in the event that a serious vulnerability is discovered that could seriously compromise the integrity or availability of the chain managed by the KAD DAO, or to ensure that any actions of the DAO comply with constitutional rules.

PetarP Maymounkov

PetarP Maymounkov is a computer scientist who has made significant contributions mainly in the area of distributed computing and networking. Together with David Mazieres, he co-proposed the Kademlia algorithm, an important algorithm for distributed data storage and lookup in peer-to-peer networks.The Kademlia algorithm has been widely used in P2P applications, providing an efficient mechanism for looking up and distributing data in peer-to-peer file sharing systems (e.g., BitTorrent), among others.

David Mazieres

David Mazieres is a professor at Stanford University and a leading scholar in computer science. In collaboration with PetarP Maymounkov, he co-proposed the Kademlia algorithm, which provides an efficient data location and lookup mechanism for distributed peer-to-peer networks.
